Haven't been squid fishing since season started. Going out today under Newport bridge. SSW should be good.

Hope to go to GIB tonight for my only trip of the year. Will be wearing a camo bandanna on my head. If you see me, say "hi"!

Never made to squid fishing ground last night. At the dock, found out a navigation light went out. Spent almost an hour to fix. Then thick fog rolled in. Too scared to run to the bridge. Put boat back on trailer and went home.

Too bad Tongvo. I finally caught up with Martin and Ruta last night. They said it had been slow most of the day but as soon as I got there it started to pick up. I got there around 7 PM and fished till around 9:30 PM. Got most about an hour before dark. Once dark, it shut off, for me anyway. I ended up with about 20 of mixed sizes. Ruta got a double next to me and then so did I; my first!

Hello alll. New to the forum but not to fishing. Was there last night from about 8pm - 1am. What a difference from last friday! Now i know fishing can be fishing. But what factors are most important? I thought last week was low tide this week is high tide. More water more squid. No wind last night, does that matter? Watching a school of big tubes circling the light not interested in the jigs? Why?!? Are they not aggressively feeding due to stripers? So are they leary on how they feed? I'll be back tonight. Red Sox hat and long hair. Can't miss me. Thanks in advance.
