These are the latest squid jigs released from yamashi.ta. I went to a Yamashi.ta info night and hey explained that you charge these up similar to the gloq jigs but rather then glow their outer body / skin heats up bu 0.5 to 1 degC . The squid sence this and this makes the jig much more attractive.
Has any ne go their hands on one of these and tried them out. They saund great but I just wanted to know if anyone has had success..

at brighton and beaumaris?
the weather has pushed them away or they could be with the huge school of salmon getting around.
are you using it under a float?
i use silver whitting.

Spot A i'm using yakkas, got two squid on the baits and bupkis on the jigs.
Spot B i haven't tried them yet... but i will.
I only use them late at night when no one is there because they drift a fair bit with the float.
I only use the yakka because i have a short bait jig and the silver whiting are to big.
I don't think its the salmon that is spooking them, they might just be in lower numbers than they were with plenty of food around or the baitfish have moved on. With the weather changing it could be a barometric pressure thing, could be too much fresh, could be the bigger ones headed off into the deep for any number of reasons.
Over fishing maybe at some spots, there was 30-40 big squid being caught at the bayside piers everyday for a while there.
I was told there was 3 BIG squid hanging in the shallows the other night eating the tiny baitfish and wouldn't even look at the jigs.
All a bit of a mystery.
But having such a good run on them should have taught us a thing or two, anyone can catch them when they in the mood.
Catching them when they are wise up to our tricks should make us good squid fishermen... in theory.
No problem...

Sounds good, yes when they are hungry you can throw a kmat jig at them and they will go it but when they are shy thats when you need to pull a few tricks out and see what works.
when are you out next?

just got back, bupkis on the baited jig. got one about 500-600grams on the pink glow harimitsu & two squid about 400 grams each on the orange harimitsu
Got there at 3:45. baited up cast out, cast the pink glow out, got my cigs out and had a squid before i found my lighter.... didn't even move the jig.
.....................2 hours later i got another one, then i cleaned them. packed up, but thought i might as well fish till daylight. Got another one... fished for a bit longer, cleaned him. now i'm home...
Total opposite to last time... bait didn't get a look in.
same conditions, same stage of the tide.
No problem...
