Puget Sound, WA (2012 Season)
fished seacrest pier tonight at the water taxi. caught 2 squid from 10:30 to midnight. 5 others fishing most of them with 10 plus squid one guy probably had close to half a bucket. just waiting for my chance to limit..... one of these days...

For those of you using the clamp style work light for your set up, what type of bulb do you recommend ?
Still catching downtown! 69 was decent for sure. My buddy left with 40 to 50 after just a couple hours.

Nice, great work! Out of my roughly 3-4 weeks of squid fishing at 62/63, 69/70, and Redondo, I've only had that experience once. It is an event that every fisherman deserves to experience. Hopefully some of that action heads down to Redondo or 69 tonight when I head out.

No Seacrest is in West seattle near Alki Beach
got 5 pounds fishing at 69 last night! Despite the muddy water, gotta use orange jigs to penetrate the mud so the squid can see your jigs! Most luck with an orange jig than the others I had in my box!

Nothing at Alki from 7-8 pm
got about 3 pounds tonite! Had to REALLY work for them! running back nd forth between 69, 70 & 59
4 almost 5 pounds last night. Definitely had to work for em.

Everyone must have seen your post since last night at edmonds it was PACKED!! I don't mind it packed, but it was super slow and I got skunked after 4 hours of fishing. Everyone wasn't doing that well either. Guess it's hit or miss.
well it was packed when i went but most people were all in one spot and well i was not anywhere near them after about a hour they all saw what was going on and the whole crowd moved down by me and 5 others it sucked that they all decided to want to combat fish
Just got home from 70, my mother-in-law, my wife, and I got about a total of 7 lbs in roughly 4 hours, although they gave away about 4-5 lbs to my brother and his wife when they had to leave. First hour or two was kinda slow due to the choppy waters, but picked up a bit for about 1 hour. Gets annoying when certain nights I'm the only light source on the pier and some, not all, fellow fishermen use my generator/light without even asking in the beginning or a thanks when they leave, it's the least they can do after I spent $1k on it, guess being polite/courteous is overrated nowadays.

Get used to it man. I bought a generator last year and want to know how many times people have offered to help me with cash for gas after fishing on my lights all night? Zero. The benefit we get is to know that we have the ability to TURN OFF the light, and move it when we dont appreciate the others around. Dont get me wrong, this can be hard to do in a good bite. However, I dont think your unwelcome company likes to fish in the dark. If he did like the dark, he wouldn't be next to you. Anyways, problem should be fixed after a night or two screwing with em. Im very open with people around me. I often give little warnings if it gets too crazy. If that doesn't work, we do have the ability to move somewhere less crowded.
