The benefit we get is to know that we have the ability to TURN OFF the light, and move it when we dont appreciate the others around. Anyways, problem should be fixed after a night or two screwing with em. Im very open with people around me. I often give little warnings if it gets too crazy. If that doesn't work, we do have the ability to move somewhere less crowded.

Maybe I'll have to try that in the future, there was a guy that literally stuck his head into my bucket then afterwards casted his line diagonally into my entire family's lines. Luckily he moved away quick, he was 1 cast away from me chucking his rod into the Sound. Anyways, might head out again tonight if the Cowboy's game doesn't look too competitive.

Aloha all, thanks for all the good info on this site. I'm in Eastern Washington so not much squidding around here. I tried it for the first time last month at Edmonds and got a few and learned alot. Hoping to maybe make the drive over next month and try again. Any advice on where to go in mid December would be really appreciated.

Just curious how many of you take young kids (ages 4-8 or so) and how do you set them up? I mean they don't really know how to jigg and their attention span is usually so short. I would love to take my kids but not sure how to do it.

I took my in the morning. Yes, you can catch squids in the morning. We got 35 squids that morning. My kid is only 3.5 years, so his interest was very short. Took 2 toys with me, chair, warm blanket, and some snack to keep him busy.

Normally i would just say what I got, to keep the volume of people low. But there was about 100 there so it doesn't matter! Got 6 pounds at Edmonds! schools were the largest maybe 12'' X 24''. Others had different amounts. It been good at Edmonds for the PAST 3 weeks! There are days where it has it uglys. But overall good. Got them shallow, deep, close, far, with lights, no lights almost every area we were catching squid! some jumbos, but alot of smaller squid. but good for Edmonds! I normally dont see people i would know at edmonds during a squid season. But during a king season, yes!

Thank you for the report. Squidman1 this is a recreational/sport activity and everyone wants to bring something home to share with their loved ones. I think it is much cheaper to buy squids at the store, but everyone has the same feeling when the squid is dragging your rod down and you simply can't buy that feeling anywhere.

Water looked good last night. But, you had to put in your time to get a good bucket of squid. I had to fish 6 hours for 6 lbs.

Not sure about Kingston. I have been going to illahee and come home with at least a pound. People there have been catching limits. When I'm not there of course.
How big does it have to be to be considered a jumbo? I was catching 7-8 inchers all night last night. Then right before I left I got an 11" monster! Biggest one I have ever caught!
