What are some methods to use for squiding at night near bridges etc? Does the normal prawn style jig work the same as in the daytime? Thanks <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
A Prawn style jig is not very effective during night time because squid cannot see at night but if you use a baited jig with whiting or pilchard etc, the squid are attracted to these because they can smell the fish, but can't smell the artificial jig! I hope that answers your question!

I will argue with that point just a bit. We generally like to use glow in the dark squid jigs, and the squid can quite easily see those, day or night. Squid have quite good eye sight, as well.
I think the glow in the dark jigs work better, but aren't required.
 sorry i totally forgot about glow in the dark jigs i have heard of them but never seen then!!
ROY the pier at flinders are pretty lit up so i guess you won't have a problem <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
REALLY??? I have always considered the glow in the dark jigs to be standard. That is mostly what I sell, as most people don't have interest in ones that don't glow in the dark. So most of the ones in shops there don't glow?
Hello Roy, This advice is a little late. and to ou Fishy you guys ever tried glow jigs at night???tHEY bLITZ <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Try a led torch fellas.

Just drop by to ask a question. Are Squid Jigs of Size 3.0 too big to be used on Kelongs ?
I usually uses Size 2.5 but have caught many using Size 3.0 as well.
However, my dad said that it's too big. what do you ppl think ?
