Hi guys, I had a go for about half an hour at mt martha rocks tonight and got 2 nice size ones (already eaten).
Rocksy, nice one from beauy the other day mate. It was almost as big as my one when I got those 3 biggies down there on the 24th of feb. haha mayb yours was a bit bigger.
I think I might give it another go at mt martha tomorrow in the boat and I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Anywho, first post too by the way.

Ok so we had a bit of a late start yesterday but it was awesome fun and pretty productive.
Got up yesterday at about 10 am and had to put new lights and wiring in my mates boat trailer before we could head down.
We got it all done by about 1 and headed down from Bentleigh to Mornington boat ramp with boat in tow. once we got there and got onto the water it was about 3ish.
We decided to have a go for some decent fish for a bit first in about 18m of water off mt Martha with not a great deal of success so headed in to about 10m with was great fun with heaps of under sized pinkys, a couple of frogs and my first banjo witch was pretty awesome.
Then it was squid time!! So we swapped to jigs and after pulling up 4 little ones we thought we should have a go in at 3m and then it was one after the other. I got a few good sized ones in the boat and because i was flicking from the bow I didn't have to worry about being inked, So i had some fun with the guys in the back.
It was so full on, if id didnt get dark, we would of stayed there all night. But because we had not lights, we took off back to Morny with a pretty good amount of fresh calamari and a couple of little frogs for tonights BBQ.

Its kinda hard to find at first but if you just drive down the coastal road just after the mt matha shops it gets all bendy and you'll see a dodgy car park on the right that usually has a few cars parked in it right around sun set. you have to walk down a steep little cliff. once you find it though, its well worth it.

Oh well, some times its good to just turn the sounder off and go with you gut but on the other hand, its nice to catch big fish too.
Good work on the calamari though.
