Newport Ri 2015 Squid Season
man i'm suppose to go to "sakonnet" tonight so tired from black fishing thinking about canceling.  the only news i got is for newport a few squid here.  tom and his friend caught about 12 last night.  big noy got almost a half bucket of squid tuesday morning.  i tryed wednesday morning.  yup got skunk lols.  try if you want and you probably bring home a empty bucket.  squid is still slow going for newport.

Water temps in Newport should be getting there after this week.

Squid: The other other OTHER white meat
Went to sakkonet point this morning, nothing. Saw few tautog come up in the couple hours I was there
Just saw a report of scout squids being caught in Bristol.

I wonder if there's any in Jamestown?
I am friends with Coastal Charters Sport fishing on Facebook and they just posted a video of them filling buckets off Hyannis... Everyone on the boat was like one after another! So hopefully they will be here soon
Hi everyone,

Im new to squidding and been reading report on here time to time.

Also, where exactly do you stand on land in Hyannis to fish? Does anyone know? Thanks.

Ryan

Squid u knot.my buddy got a half bucket in a hour.tried Bristol absolutely nothing here.dont know where the Bristol report came from but I've been out the last 2 nights and haven't caught or seen anything.hopefully a few more days
Same here I just waisted 4 hours for nothing.

GI,JT about same. None. Nada.
Couple ppl on goat island have a dozen each but the catch has been spotty. Same thing, can see them swimming in schools but aren't biting heavily. I'll try again in the morning, keep yall posted
Hi guys, does anyone know if squid ever make it to Stamford or Norwalk CT? Also, when people on this board mention Eastern CT, where exactly in Eastern CT are they referring to? Can someone give me a city and street and specific squidding location?

WIIFM???

Take a good look at the Eastern CT shoreline and work back west. What is the first coastal town with a harbor? Is there a public dock there? Sorry i don't know the name of the street.
Sorry to put this in here, but I heard from a friend that seen an asian fishermen at Tiverton caught half a bucket of squid.  I am all for pictures and proof, but I thought I'd put this on here since it is new/report.

I have to work, but get antsy because I'd rather go squiding.  Each day I look forward to the weekend of fishing.  Can't wait to get out there regardless of catching nothing because it is better than work.  And a nice cold beer after fishing.

Went to newport this morning ,nothing but jelly fish, everyone there said the same thing and they have tried every day this week,  next week?

Im tempted to try out day squidding. I hear bright colors are good when there is more available light but I have never tried. Is it only good at Goat island or have you guys had any success at other land based locations?

Personally I've had my personal best during the day! Both spring and fall runs last year in Newport.
I know. I was referencing you lol. Read your posts last year and was soo envious. I might ask you for pointers one of these days. :-D
Drove across the GI bridge today at 3:30pm and not a person fishing!   coming back over the bridge saw one fellow with

rod and reel walking across the rocks by the park.  Checked a few other spots and same.  Frances fleet is starting this

weekend for squid as some have been taken off the beaches by boats

Thanks TJ, but I meant more specifically in terms of locations around Eastern CT where people frequently go to catch them. I'm coming all the way from Stamford and the fuel gets costly making the hike to JT or GI each time (the trip is also very tiring, especially coming back at 3 or 4am). So if there was a closer hot squidding spot (somewhere in CT), I'd seriously consider it. Thanks.
