Capt. Jeff Viamari, Bad Influence Sportfishing, is reporting good squid fishing on his Facebook account. Pictures as well. He also has an open boat trip for the 11th which has 4 spot left as of a few minutes ago (Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/617271201761669/  ). I'm going with him on Monday night and on Thursday night of this week out of Yarmouth. Might be going out tomorrow, Saturday night, out of Falmouth with a new fishing buddy who has already sent me pictures of his great catch last Tuesday night with 2 other friends.Â
Â
This is my first year of squid fishing so I'm really lucky to have met Capt. Jeff last year and got introduced to my new fishing buddy by Capt. Jason Colby, Little Sister, with whom I do a lot of winter flounder fishing at this time of year out of Quincy.
Â
I could use some advice from experienced guys regarding freezing the squid for bait.  Can I freeze them "as is" or do I need to clean them first. I intend to use them whole or cut up, depending on size, for stripers and fluke.  Maybe sea bass as well. FYI, I ordered a vacuum sealer but it got backordered so I'll be using zip-lock bags to store them in the freezer.
