Hey everyone!!!
Well a friend and I are attempting to hit the squid again and are not sure where to go tonight???
We haven't really caught any yet haha and want to do everything we can to increase our chances!!!
We tried portsea pier around the high tide (3am) last week from 1am-5am and didn't hit a thing, we saw 2 decent sized squid and a school of little ones and that was it.
Tonight is low tide and we were wondering if it was worth going (we really want to go). We're after decent sized squid (We always get a catch at rye pier but they're rather small).
We have a prawn light and a car battery we were scouting the pier (portsea) with it last week and the only place we saw anything was at the end of the pier on the lower steel floor part facing towards the shore. Any one know any tips for this pier?? Would Flinders or Sorrento piers be any better? Would be good to catch some whiting too!! Also we were leaving thel ight in the water as we've heard it attracts squid, is that true???
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers!!
