@Squidman1: I don't know about the parking at Des Moines. I just make the walk from the South Lot. I may just buy a permit next season though.
07-01-2012, 10:04 PM
Ya my friend. And I decided to park at the south lot today then walking up to find that the pier was closed till april so no more jumbo limits till next year! And parking kind sucks in the north lot!

Wow. I didn't think the pier was that beat up.

I've been out around Kingston and Indianola 3 times in the last 4 days, o for 3 is the score. But I did get to enjoy the windy rainy weather.

I have tried Kingston and Indianola docks without a squid.

Me neither, it looked fine when i was there last weekend

native dave, for the west side of the sound, i know Kingston, Bremerton, port orchard, indianola has put out squid. But the most 2 active docks Ive heard is Bremerton, and Pt. orchard. And Pt. Orchard has been puttimg out limits recently.

New to sport, any place down in Olympia to get squid? Thanks
10-01-2012, 04:17 AM
I went again last night, Again nothing , that was at the new Suquamish dock. I really appreciate the tip and I will give it another try tonight.
Steelhead and hunting are more my thing but I am pretty determined to catch a squid. Thank you again, ND
10-01-2012, 06:33 AM
Ya steelheading has been not hot but slow, and squid is winding down but they are out there. This time of year they can be caught and hr. Or two before dark. Just gotta hunt for them!
TIGHT LINES AND GOOD LUCK!

When does squid season ends?
11-01-2012, 05:43 AM
Hey guys, here are two updates:
Jan 7, Seattle Terminal 91 Bike Path: Was there from midnight to 1am, nothing. Jan 8, same: 5pm to 7pm. There were some people there but no squid in sight. Des Moines pier has a "No Trespassing" sign because the rails are being replaced.

How about sharing some hints about the general area we should be looking in for these squid? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Over the last few weeks, I've been averaging about 3 squid a night spending anywhere from 9-12 hours squidding. Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Just created an account and am new to squidding. Went to Edmonds pier last night from 9 - 10. Nothing. Are squid up North that far anymore this season?
17-01-2012, 01:30 AM
They may be there, but this time of year edmonds sucks you got to try south from shilshole into tacoma the out west to bremerton and port orchard.

I bought a generator this year and have been able to take it to new places that I have never heard of squidding before. It worked! I suggest everyone do the same, if they can afford it. I bought my generator to increase my success around the common places around the sound. However, when many people crowd you night after night, it gets old. Thats why I like keeping the EXACT loaction quiet for now. Doesnt every fisherman have their secret spot? I have made the mistake on here many times before telling people how good it is and show up to a dock full of people and no good spots left to fish. I like being by myself with my close friends and not having to worry about people crowding both me and my light. If what you are doing is not working, I suggest you stop doing it.

Agree, with demoines shut down and the other eastside docks sucking this year we have had had some fairly rude and obnoxius jerks hitting some of the docks i fish this season. Find a spot out of the way and keep it to yourself. Unfortunatly the commercials read this site too and if you noticed last year when people were posting about how great they were doing in seatle the commercials came in and wiped em up. Maybe part of why it really sucked over there this year. These squid live a year when there hit that hard it takes awhile for them to come back.
Squid Qoute of the day "Oh Oh here he comes again."
