#1
This has probably been asked a few thousand times...................what is the best squidly reel for the price ?????

My poor little ten dollar egg beater is wearing out and will need to be replaced soon and i,m looking at a decent squid reel and suggestions would be helpful........not concerned so much about price, but what fisho's have had and are using compared to past reels.

What do you consider the best for money ??????

Hi Ian, when i was looking at buying a reel i ended up buying a daiwa caldia 2506 for $250 and i love it.

But if you look up ray annes on the net they have a beautiful little reel wich is a daiwa egee for $200 their

in adelaide and they express post overnight for $10 i think. the reel that is $200 would have to be one of the

best value for money eging reel... hope this helps regards Giovanni

also they were the cheapest in australia with that reel.

Hi ian i use a daiwa emeraldas 2506 w for my squid fishing

with i find superb to use it's realy light and that's what you

want in a reel so if you want you can get a daiwa luvias or a steez

if you want and buy a double handle for it like ive done with one of my

other reels and that way you can use that reel for other fishing situations.

I have a Caldia KIX 2506W. Fairly good value for money but I've found it's really up to the task of hard jigging. The spool is coming loose on mine. No problem with the drag yet but I think if I don't get it over hauled soon, there could be tears.

i'm in the same boat Ian, i'm getting a daiwa caldia 2506W

If your prone to a bit of spending, which i'm assuming you are being a fisherman <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

They are RCS compatible so you can get all the swish handles and spools some of which have the 7kg of drag. I trying to track one down at the moment without paying aussie prices.

Cheapest i've found.

i hav been using a shmano twin power 4000 and it is fantastic. i went to get a double handle or it and not reliasing the price of double handles beign over $120 I thought im just going to get the sephia BB. only used the sephia bb once . it seems okay but not as nice as my twin power. i will continue to give the double handle thing a go to see if it really makes a difference, so fay the jury is still out for me.

Once you use the double handle for eging, it's hard to go back <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />
