Hi !

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Sid, if you haven't yet worked it out. Live in Melbourne, Australia. Just got in to squiding!! Been fishing since I was a kid. Using cut up pilchards as bait since I was small but getting used to using squid jigs. I'd like to get in to soft plastics, one day very soon.

Been using a $12 kids rod and reel combo since I started squiding, been only 3 weeks. Ended up getting a surf rod and reel to suit. And my most recent purchase, 2 days old, is a Shimano Sahara full graphite 6'6" rod and got a Shimano 2500fb? Hyperloop reel to match . Haven't had a chance to throw a line in the water with it but I really cannot wait! I have a couple Yamashita's and Yo Zuri's I want to throw in the water!

Cheers,

Sid

hi sid,

any rod/reel will do.

squid rods just make it alot easyer as do the reels.

You should come have a fish down at portsea one day and get yourself a decent squid or cuttlefish.

if you need any jigs that are cheap i know the guy you will want to talk to.
