Puget Sound, WA (2012 Season)
LIMITED! X4 soo good. JUMBOOO!
Caught the morning rising tide bite at Waterfront park. Squid was had by all. It was a very good early morning. Limited out.

Why can't all squid trips be like that.
Very nice! Glad to hear everyone is gettin em! I might be out there tonight
Went out last night here on the kitsap side. Came home with almost 3lbs mostly large in size. It was a fun night when the rain moved out.
I'll be at Edmonds Friday night. Tide incoming from 6-midnight, hope to snag a few squid.
limited at my secret spot! Only 4-6 feet of water. rest at 70!
went to edmonds last night from 630 - 830 i got about 30 squid wasnt to busy either but still was very slow got most of my squid within a half hour and picked up some stranglers here and there all the squid were huge my biggest was a whopping 13inches long total length i might go back this weekend since the tides are good
Does anyone fish off of pier 86(elliot bay pier)? The fish and game website shows that as a squidding spot
yes they do but not many guys (or not at all) that fish there are on the forum! Walked up edmonds after I got done with my model railroad group since its next door. saw limits
Does anyone know how the squidding at Des Moines has been?
There is a guy in Seattle who sells jigs for $1-2 for each. Are you on the forum. Does anyone knows him?
Yes. I know him. He fishes the piers around Waterfront park in Seattle. His name is Steve. But, his jigs are 2$-3$ a piece. In fact, I was using one of them as my top jig yesterday and killing the jumbos with it. He's usually there in the evenings. He's one of the few white guys who fishes down there. Squidman1 knows him too. He should have a batch of new jigs to sell now.

I bought jigs from him once as well. I know the guy in the face, but I don't want to go to Seattle and hoping that he will be there. I need about 10 jigs and would like to know for sure when he will be there.
He was at Edmonds last night
No he was not! The guy at Edmonds is Red he sells jigs for 10 bucks each or 3 for 20. or 5 dollard each or 2 for 5. The guy at Seattle is Steve he sells his jigs for 2-5 bucks. Last night LIMITED

Reds jigs are good too. That was my bottom jig yesterday and the jumbos liked that one as well.

10lb: how many jigs do you want to buy? I can hook you two up.

Well the guy at edmonds was selling his jigs for 3-5 dollars each, so maybe he changed his prices. I wouldn't spend 10 dollars on a jig if it was magical.

Speaking of which, anyone have a magical jig? I've caught 4 squid the past 2 nights, not feeling blessed.

The magic is being at the right time and the right place now. Time and tide seems to be the key at this point in the season. The Seattle waterfront piers seem to do well if you hit it right. Haven't been out to Seacrest yet to see how it's been.
What tide do you shoot for?

I don't have anything magical but the last set of test jigs I made worked like a charm. Simple but effective

I usually try and shoot for high tide and an hour or 2 on each side, though I have has a few good nights on low tides. Hope it helps.
