Puget Sound, WA (2012 Season)
Crappy night got 7 at 69 from sunset to 1 to130am and saw one Mackeral get pulled in!
You were at 69 tonight (10/11/2012)? I was at 70 tonight (just got home) between 9PM to 12AM and hauled in 6, I saw a group across the dock at 69, maybe that was you somewhere in that group lol. Then at 12AM I dropped by 62/63 and there wasn't much either.
No I was ther 10/9/12 Tuesday night!
10/11/12 (Thursday night), was at Seacrest Pier from 8PM - 11:30PM and only caught 1, other squidders only had a handful as well.
Headed to 69 showed late as traffic sucked going through Greenwood and crossing 15th Ave NW at 77th st! Anyways got 7 at 69 others had luck! and then went to the aquarium at low tide got 3 there and my friend got one too! slow night but better then tuesday
Got 8 at Pier 69 today (10/12/2012 10PM - 12AM). This is the first time when I brought home more that 1 squid. There were about 10 anglers and lots of light (2 gens and one of lamps was really monstrous), which help me to make a conclusion - while proper light is very important for successful squiding, presence of squids is even more important for the success. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Thank you guys so very much for your tips and advice. It was a so great help!
Anyone been to Redondo lately?
Anyone been out in the last couple days with all the rain? Havent been motivated to go back out, looking outside.
Has anyone been squid fishing in the Tacoma area this month yet? I usually start at Pt. Defiance around this time every year. at Daylight Savings time
I haven't, gotta buy some good rain resistant apparel before I do so, know of any cheap places? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Any reports in the Des Moines - Tacoma areas yet?
Fished the aquarium pier area with my portable light setup. Was there from 11:30P to 3:15A. Got about 12 medium sized squid. Lots and lots of baitfish around. They balled up and it looked like you could sit on top of them and not get wet. They love the light. Saw a couple of salmon cruising around too. I keep on forgetting to bring some gear for that.
Nice, I haven't fished there before since I never see where the pier is at night when I drive by towards pier 69/70.
Went to Edmonds at 8pm today for the first time this fall. There were about 20 or so people on the pier. When I got there, there was a school hanging out and some of the more skilled folks were consistently catching. I, on the other hand, still need to master the skills. Was still able to walk away with 7 small-medium ones. Harbor seal showed up and we all were ready to pack up, but then a school came and let us know they're still around. All in all a great night for the first of the season.
After my mishap last night! I got my revenge tonite! Went 4 pounds and 9 ounces with 65 squid fishing at 69/70! Jumbos and medium and very few tiny squiddies! Doubles were VERY COMMON! and squid were red and REALLY AGGRESSIVE! Others did better to limits! and schools hung around! And freaky thing was a school of salmon came thrugh (maybe 20 silvers) and a seal was going into them NOT chasing and he dove in front of us, and we were STILL CATCHING squid!
Wow nice catch for both of y'all. I didn't think that squid would be around during lowtide (7PM - 3AM) tonight, so I didn't bother to head out. I guess I'm wrong on that, or is just luck?
Its all about luck for you and the squid happened to be there! It was a good night for me because they were red meaning aggressive! others had limits. 69 has its really good nights if you go on a good night!
Went to Alki last night between 6-7:30 p.m., was about 10-15 people there but only saw one squid caught in that time. Seemed a bit slow so I left early to watch the Seahawks game, hopefully the rain dies down a bit this weekend.
Crabber, for squidding in the Bay. Generally outgoing tide is best and low tide at the time last night was about 2-3 am. Alot of people wait it out then most of the time you will start smashing them!
