I am still filling buckets with squid .. though mostly fishing up north now.. R.I. is cold. for squidding.. time to switch gears and go for stripers etc. in R.I. though I don't know what the deep water fishing boats and head boats are doing in R.I. ie.: Frances Fleet etc...

All of Cape Cod is on fire. Commercial boats are reaping bumper crops. I have fished from Falmouth to Chatham with great success. Filled a bucket on Wednesday night.

According to Frances Fleet... Nebraska Shoals and Green Hill Area is on fire! People filling buckets and if the weather is nice I will be filling coolers! lol

The expected swells from Tropical Storm Alberta won't help. From what I can see... Goat Island is dead and will remain dead from here on. Blame the rebound of the seal population!

Squid are in Canal. Squid are all over Cape Cod.. from Maritime to Chatham.. Can't fit any more in my freezer.

Petermeix123.......did you fish from a boat or from shore? Are there any good spots from shore to fish from? My freezer is nearly empty and I would love to fill it with some squid, any suggestions on locations would be appreciated. I tried fishing from the Beverly fishing pier yesterday and ended up with mackerel, but no squid.

I was on the Lady Frances Friday night. Fishing was decent, but no slaughter. I fished hard and caught about 50 squid, either they were huge or tiny. 50 of them filled up almost 1/2 of a bucket, a few people had more, most had less. Decent squid fishing but no way anyone filled up 2 buckets, that would have been like 250 squid....I don't think so.



it was worth going though, we were right on Nebraska Shoals.

Nope... Was dead as wood last night down Nebraska Shoals. Small schools of squid passed by but no bait to keep them around and interested. There seems to be a huge shortage of squid in RI waters but a huge amount in Buzzards Bay. Buzzards Bay is stacked with Scups, Stripers, Blues, Sea Bass, Mackerels and SQUID!

The squid, and many other fish, are at the cape. Postmansquid and I filled 2/3 bucket yesterday and also bumped into DRCIRO who was still perfecting the art of throwing a cast net. Speriamo che hai avuto buona fortuna dottore! Hai riempito il secchio?
