North of RI, there is alot of life for this time of year. I suspect things are earlier.. if not, the squid never left.
Mackerel have not left the shores north of boston. I caught a squid in January in RI while mackerel fishing... I would bet they are there, just not super aggressive.

[/quote]There really were a few in January. The water is as warm as it is in late April so the spring run could be early!
