Would love some Squid
#1
I know its a bit late but I would love to get some fresh squid for eating. I tried the Fri night squid trip that Eastmans (Seabrook NH)

had last week and caught 2 for 2 hrs of trying. It was slow for most on the boat. They since have discontinued the night squid trips. I am from western Mass. and willing to drive anywhere in New England to fish. Sorta familiar with quite a few areas but this time of year is it still possible to catch squid from docks or shore?

Was thinking about heading to the cape to check out the canal and some warf areas. Would I be better off on the bay side or better on the ocean side. Wont be going swimming or even standing in the water with the great white attack. Anyone know if there are any squid party type boats going out this time of year.

Hi Janz, I usually catch a bunch on the Vinyard around this time of year, sadly not there this summer. You could call Menemsha Texaco in Menemsha and they should know, the squidding is often fantastic from their fuel dock at night. Good luck, Gilligan

how many you want to catch... guys are catching squid off of beverly docks, salem docks, gloucestor, nut island, castle island, and basically any pier to the open ocean.. numbers range from a few to a hundred.. there was a decent bite off the docks of provincetown..

Hi Janz, was in Menemsha last night, no action. There is usually great action there in the fall, I've had many nights there of 40-50 per hour. I'm going up there for a month in October and will post when they come in thick. I'll be on top of any Edgartown action, too.
