Naturally I skip out and miss the action
Hopefully going off PJ Sunday night.

Anyone fish last night???
Fished JT last night for about 3 hours. Rain kicked in after one hour. Called it a night. Squid count = 0.

Stopped by GI Tuesday night before a work meeting Wed: cold, windy, and drizzly - a few folks fishing but no one appeared to be catching.

If you click on longfin squid (Illex is caught offshore, longfin offshore in winter and inshore in summer) you will see the current summer quota report - blue is this year, orange is last year. Not much commercial squid coming in right now, but some has started to come into RI. Reports are updated every Friday usually...

Any one willing to join me to go to JT tonight?

I've got lots of fuel to burn! PM me or come join with me at JT around 8ish!
I hit Pier 2 on the Navy base last night. Hard wind and rain cut me off after 45 minutes. Headed to GI. The wind was blocked but after half an hour, the rain got a little heavy. I figured I could catch the same number of squid in my house that I was catching in the rain, so I called it a night. I saw murky water in one bucket, so I assume he had a squid. Aside from that, no one had anything.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.
I've got nutting!!! I got there around 7ish and joshfish joined later. Spent about 2hours with him both is got notingSad

But eventually I saw bunch of squids on surface.

As usual they don't bite. I spent another hour but I gave up.

We started at 7:30 to 9:30 big waves killed My generator. Got no squid

Location GI, on boat next to bridge.

Did not see any one on bridge catch any squid neither.

Went to GI there were three guys there... So I headed to Ft.Adams there were two guys there, I fished for about an hour, saw lots of bait, no squid. Sad
I don't think you will see any boats at PJ tonight:

Tonight: NW winds 15 to 20 kt...increasing to 20 to 25 kt after midnight. Gusts up to 35 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. A chance of showers.

I doubt even the francis fleet will sail into that mess. Even the harbor will be snotty. If the squid were there, some of the bigger boats would go, but again, with the recent lack of tender vittles most will stay put.

But at least the weather is more typical for the spring squid run. Usually this is the pattern when they run. Getting the boat out to chase them is always a challenge. MAybe that is a good sign......

I am going on the Francis Fleet tomorrow night (Sunday night). I booked the trip on Wednesday, but got cancelled due to weather. Rescheduled for Sunday night.

Hopefully, there will be squid.

So, no chatter tonight? Does this mean people are getting ink'd or is no one catching anything?
