Rescue 17, thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll be looking to invest in a new trailer. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

when is the usual time for squid migration around GI?
and how long does the migration last (window)? it takes about 2-2.5 hrs from my house. I don't want to make a long trip for nothing?

If last night was an indication it won't be long. Looked like a lot of commercial squid boats way out off the South Shore last night.
06-04-2013, 03:19 PM
how far out?

how far out? [/quote] 10 miles is a guess. These are trawlers not head boats.

I hear the squid have landed in hyannis ma already... Anyone else go there yet...
08-04-2013, 03:48 AM
Hyannis reports are very shaky. If your source is an Asian person be very careful, don't bank on them telling you the truth. I been told by many Asians that the squid are here! but i gotta wonder how they know if squid are there when they not going them selves. Asians love to say it to get someone to go on a dumbo mission to see if there any squid. to save them selves the trip. Am Vietnamese so i ain't talk out of my a hole. I went down to Newport last week on a word from a friend to a friend. I know better but am just so anxious to get the season started. take the local guys word not someone that lives 2 hours away.

We should be seeing some squid soon..., probably around the full moon this month. Any wind from the south and warmer temps should do the trick!

It was good to see you this past Saturday. All I know is my jigs are sorted and organized. I have new lights and the generator is good to go. Now the boat is being sent off for some pre-season work. - ATG

Hope the pre-season work is all preventative and routine for your boat! I usually prowl the Navy base from shore (piers) with the usual AIST suspects...
