Hi again, well I went to mornington pier on Friday morning with my brother around 8:30. about halfway up the pier (just where it starts to rise) we threw a couple of green jigs in and caught 2 nice ones!
Then nothing for a couple of hours except my brother managed to catch a big Flathead!! sorry slightly off topic but this thing was huge and we didn't have a net so as I was hauling it in the 6 pound trace snapped and it made a big splash back to freedom. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />
My brother was quite sad a few times that day as he remembered the one that got away. Concentrated more of squid after that and brother caught two more nice ones after that Closer to the boats.
Suffice to say mum was very happy with dinner that night. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Went to Mornington pier yesterday (Saturday). Was very refreshing as the weather was cool and breezy. We caught a few pinkies (All undersized), lots of toadies (grrrrrr), a decent flathead, but the catch of the day was a nice chunky 41cm Australian Salmon. Was a kodak moment when i got the fella onto the net and all the onlookers gave a cheer. Sorry but no first time squid yet <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Eager to go there again!!
Also, have a Merry Christmas everyone, stay safe and tight lines!!
Some great action this week with staff member Mark Keaveny and mates landing 12 silver trevally, 8 mullet, 3 squid an octopus and a two kilo salmon. Best baits were pilly, tuna, bluebait and chicken fillet. They have also caught some nice slimy mackerel there this week.
Dan, Vic, Adam, Mitch and Torns went to the pier to collect some bait for gummies and got some trevally and calamari. Hyabusa jigs were best.

Quote:Staff Member Mitch fished out from Mornington with mate Paul. The boys managed to bag out on Calamari in 5 metres of water. Small 1.8 size Yamashita jigs in the pink and green colours worked best.

Customer Dylan Brendan fished in 8-12 metres of water out from Mornington on Saturday. Using soft plastics he managed numbers of pinkie snapper to 1.5 kilos along with a few whiting. At one stage he went for a troll using small hard body lures to land pike to 40cm before flicking a squid jig around in the shallows to catch a feed of calamari.
hi squidlet, thanks for the report! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' />
