two piece fishing rod fitting issue

Hi guys,

Im new to squid fishing here, I purchased a sephia bb r squid fishing rod from japan (im from australia) and there seem to be a fitting issue, the top half does not fit the bottom half fully and there is about 1cm of the fit gap in between. Any suggestions as if this is normal and how do I fix this with out sending it back to Japan?

The rod is not ment to joint all the way its normal to have a gap

all my 2 piece rods are like that as well dont worry about it.
