Brighton pier and surrounds - VIC
i'll see you there, probably have a grey backpack and a camo jacket. I have work tomorrow for 1 hour, at bloody 8:30... really put a crimp on my fishing

I'm heading down now, got myself two Clicks Prospecs to try out.
No problem...

Can do. Right. Uh-huh.

Gotcha. Cat in the furnace.

Hi guys,

I'll be there at around 5-6am, second time at brighton. If you see a nerd with a Majorcraft egi rod, its me. Just one question from a newbi, where on the rocks should I fish ?. last time I was there I didn't have a torch, went to the rocks, pitch black .

where the bend in the breakwall is... look at it on google maps. the reef is about 18-20 meters out there, any further around and it is well over casting distance to the reef.

I'll try and be there by 4:30am, but i have to leave at 7.

just got back from brighton, 4 hours fishing i didn't get a single squid... saw a fair few caught, but nothing big and i lost my pink daiwa jig.
No problem...

Can do. Right. Uh-huh.

Gotcha. Cat in the furnace.

Was at the pier yesterday at 5.30 am. 2 groups of fishos were there with a few small squid. a young kid on a bike arrived at 6 and caught 3-4 in no time, made me look like a goose. As they say "his got talent". Local knowlege does count, he gave me a few tips. later local gun angler and myself went to the rocks, I got a small one (kepted it for bait).

I believe the young kid is Dave_Vince, my little field tester. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/images2.jpg' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':zorro:' />

There are some jigs work well at brighton:

Yamashita AJK or QSK normal or slow sinking in size 3 or 2.5, when water is clear.

Yamashita Kogu glow standard all five colours, better when no moon or when water is a bit dirty.

Hayashi pink orange or red in the afternoon before dark when the water is calm.

Yozuri RS orange glow when water is rough but clear at night.

Harimitsu Glow any colour when the water is calm at night

Yozuri RS UV four colours for daytime at high tide because they sink fast.

Harimitsu Yozuri or Yamashita any dark red base colours when the squid are finicky like Harimitsu AR RR EWC, Yamashita IBA AEBA
