I have been squid fishing on the edmonds pier over the last few month. The best time I have seen right now is just after dark on the south end of the pier. You must get there early to get a spot. Bring generators for lights, there are no outlets to use on the pier. The fishing has been high's and low's some nights I went home with 50 plus and only an hour or two of fishing other nights I have been coming home with 15 or so its all about location on the pier. Hope to see you down there. The weather has been cool at night so if you see a young guy in a black a gray guidewear say hello!

Went Squidding at Edmonds pier late friday got there actually around sat around 1am. It was a bit slow. I was squidding for about 1.5 hours and caught maybe 2-3 dozen.
Used a jig I bought at an asian market and used a homemade jig. Homemade jig worked out nicely.
Does anyone know if the Edmonds fishing pier is open? I heard something happened which caused it to be closed up.

Bigsquid,
Part of the bulkhead that supports the walkway for the pier, washed out. The hole is about 25 feet long, 15 wide, and 5 deep. Between the city of edmonds, and the port of edmonds, they said they would try to have it temporarily fixed in several days. They also said that the bulkhead was going to be replaced this summer, anyways, due to its old age and condition.
They did not give an exact date of completion <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> , though.
Hope this helps.

It is open. I have been down there twice in the last week. Fishing has been slow, at least while I was there.

thanks! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' />

Vegamanx,
The season is winding down, though there are some squid still around. As for what times to try it, I usually do best on an incoming to high slack tide no matter the time, and sometimes I do good on the low slack (around the deeper piers).
And, a light does help. It also makes a difference as to what type and color of jigs you got. Look to see what others are using, at the pier you like the best.
As with other types of fishing, squidding is subject to the whims of the squid <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' /> !
Good Luck!

Edmonds fishing pier, should be open on the summer time according to some of my co-workders who usually go fishing there. How about squidding? Is there anymore to catch or is the season over!

I would go out now. They have been doing really well all year here in Kitsap County. The size has been really big.

Hi All,
I went to Edmonds tonight and the squid were few and far between, but with good size(9"-11") Maybe 20 people out there. It felt good to get the line wet and see some old friends. It can only get better. Pink was the color tonight. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

It was a nice night to go out. At least over here in Bremerton. I have not been out in a week, but the squid have been really active over here in Kitsap County. We have been seeing really big schools. I plan on going out in the next two nights. I'll let you know how it goes. Pink, green, and all glow have been a good combination.

Here is a recent report from the SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER
Thursday, December 29, 2005
Quote:Squid fishing has cooled on Puget Sound, but at least fair catches have come over the past couple of days from the Terminal 86 fishing pier on Elliott Bay and the Edmonds fishing pier.

Went out to Edmonds pier tonight and about froze my tentacles off! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> It was windy and very cold. Saw 2 very small squid caught in 3 hrs. There was about 8 of us crazy guys out there. We all decided to leave around 9:30. I am just getting the feeling back in my fingers right now, just in time to try it again tomorrow night. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
