These scents definitely work! Went squiding yeasterday and there was like 10 people there already. about 10 squids were caught in total, and 6 of them was caught by 2 guys who were constantly spraying stuff on their jigs! I wanna give these spray a go too <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/innocent.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
Now i am looking for a cheaper source of sprays and yo-zuri jigs. Anyone know?

These guys are located in st marys. they sell the egi max for $18 a can however the catch is that you have to be a member on fishraider.com.au.
Also there is another guy but also same catch you have to be a member of fishraider. His names tony and he'll charge ya $17.95 a can(ironic huh). Heres his details.

Hello guys! I'm fishing squids in Greece the last few years... I have a question about the scents to attract squids... Can't we just rub a fish around the jig? Never tried it but I will... I mean after all is cheaper for sure! Thanx,Basilis

I wonder if something like Smelly Jelly in a Menhaden scent would work. Has anyone tried something like this?

If you have raw prawns remove the head & rub the jig with it.Tuna oil also works well, but unfortunately all these things tend to make the jig discolour easily when the squid spray ink on the jig.I have used both the egimax &glowmax scents and sometimes they work and other times they don't. I always start jigging with a clean jig and only add stuff if they won't take the jig.The biggest difference is if you find a rough surfaced jig (cloth like) attracts squid but they then retreat it is because they have touched it with a candle and are suspicious of the "feel".Using a smooth surfaced jig of a similar size will almost always result in a "take"
i gave salonpas a shot a couple of times and it certainly did not hurt but i can't say if it helped.
i had a bit of trouble with it falling off the squid jig so i gave up <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
if anyone is interested, you can buy it in asian grocery stores. its a white tape inside the packet and it smells a bit like vics vapour rub.

I have heard that Salonpas is a great weapon for Squid Fishing. Just stick it on the Squid Jig body. Has anyone tried using it before ?

I have used the pens and think they do work well I also tried using the stimulate either the aerosol or the liquid and find this works just as well, dosnt seem to mark the jigs either.

Hi,
I've done some reading and there are people out there who use Stimulate - bait spray. Apparently it works but I have not tried this personally. Cannot find the manufacturers website but you can pick it up at rays outdoors. Link - They also have yo zuri jigs for cheap, in size 2.5 (from the store I went to yesterday, Nunawading, VIC).
