Ive never seen these poles - ive seen them advertised in catalogues but never seen them used - i wanna see one just to see how they work.........
I always use rods, or handlines in a boat.....

first time squid fishing this weekend, i was wondering what wight rods you would need?
ive got a vast veriety from ultra light bream gear to stong surf gear for gummies.

For casting prawn style jigs from piers I like a light, long rod paired with a threadline with 6-10lb mono.
For baited jigs a heavier outfit, 10-12 lb mono.
Longer rods help absorb the 'pumping' of hooked squid, and also help lifting up on high piers!

All my rods are done in 15lb mono - i just use my river rods - no really specialised rods..........Sometimes bring out my 10ft light surf rod for extra casting distance when using tommies!

I used to use a couple of surf rods though have now swithed to the poles, can't beat the price of around $40 no reel required great when used with a float and silver whiting, and the are easy to transport.
Give em a go.
