Anyone know the approximate dates of the fall

squid season in Rhode Island?

My understanding is now through winter.

The squid should be in due to the chilly nights of the fall. The majority of the squid during the fall aren't as big as the spring but they're a lot fatter! Hopefully these squids have survive the onslaught of massive bluefish that dwell the Harbor. I'm from RI is there any member in here who can help on where to go squid fishing in RI. I usually do fishing like striped bass but I never tried squidding and it's my first time any help would be appreciated guys.

Did you get any in the fall? Didn't know they came shallow then. Why?

i went today on sunday april 2 and didn't catch anything maybe next week on goat island . i went with my freiend from worester mass with his family and didn't get no hit maybe too early . i say around another week or so. i'll tried next week.

They arrived in early May in 2005, so you are about a month too early.

Whats happening are you from around the area?goat island that is.I think you mite be right in one area but they could serprise alot of people.We have had a preaty easy winter im not sure if that means any- thing.It would probably mean that things could start a little earlier fishing all together and squiding.I have been on goat island bridge twice with no luck.BUT COLD and nasty.HAPPY FISHING. I have been on goat island bridge twice with no luck



I bet if you come down 1st week of may, you'll get luck every night, my house not too far from goat island bridge ( 1/2 hour ) , I can't wait for a season, especially warm weather squids will come a week early.

I'm rigged and ready to go! I can not wait. Off to a Red Sox game tomorrow and will try squidding ASAP. Weather is still very mild and I'm hoping they will arrive early. I work at the Xtra Mart on Jamestown on Second Shift and I really cant wait If I hear anything I will let you all know .. I know Ill be out there with my Bucket and Hooks bringing home some Ika!!!!

Are you sure? I was there last night around 9pm, spent 2 hours and only got a few. don't see anyone getting a full bucket.

I WAS THER TILL 4 AM IN A FEW OF MY HOLES IN NEWPORT AND FILLED A BUCKET AND MY FRIENDS ALSO DID THE SAME, THERE IN JUST HAVE TO WAIT THEM OUT
