i saw this yuong bloke that was floundering but he only had a normal dolphin torch ha ha he got nothing

There are quite a few beaches around Philip Island that look worth a go, also I have heard that San Remo is worthwhile, but it would be very tide dependant (I think you would want to flounder the rising tide).

Did anyone go floundering last night??
Conditions were AWESOME before about 1am, when a northerly breeze kicked in and wrecked the visibility. My secret spot produced 3 flounder, 5 flathead, 6 gars and a squid in 1.5 hours.
I also saw at least 50 big stingrays and eagle rays in the shallows, so think twice before going night swimming in the bay!

hi jazman, how big are these rays that you saw? do you mean the massive ones a couple of metres across? are they spawning in the shallows perhaps? cheers, glen

hi guys went floundering and i took a squid jig on a bit of fishing line and wen i saw a squid i tried catching it with my jig and got it first shot <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':au:' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':zorro:' /> try it one night!!

Hi guys, went floundering last night 11pm-1am, and as usual the fish became more numerous as the night wore on. If only I didn't have to work today I could easily have stayed out all night. I ended up with 1 big flounder and 2 flathead, plus about 6 small gars. I also saw a big (30+) school of bream, and a few speedy mullet. There were more rays in the shallows than you could poke a stick at.

jaz i noticed you mentioned san remo. ive never seen anyone flounder there in the whole time ive been going to phillip island. although coronet bay is a spot worth trying. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />
