Fished off Outer harbour north of breakwater on Firiday 31st DEC for about 2 hours for 4 nice squid and 4 flathead.

Squid jags (2.5 rainbow and 2.5 lazer reflector type) were just hanging in the water 7 ft under a tiny float.

Conditions were glassy clear and smooth water .. great visability

Lures were not moved until a squid approached and then Very slow retrieve unitl sqid reached for jag. Then drop rod tip ti allow squid to take a grip and retrieve.

4 squid and four flathead gave us a wonderful feed for new years eve dinner.

I will be out after them again as soon as the water looks clear again

Mate, you won't catch much off that little jetty at all. Try along the rocks, there are plenty of different fish species on offer, from snook, to bream, to salmon. I have only ever seen a couple of small squid around there, so they are around, but definitely not in large numbers.
