Stupid Tangled Jig D:<
#1
Lately I've been thinking my jig setup sucks.

Been using a yo-zuri on the end of 6lbs leader, (we have tiny squid in Maine) leader is about 14 inches long, swivel, and a couple weights to help it down.

Everytime I pull up I've had my line wrapped all around my jig.  What gives??

I've seen some diagrams with floats.  Should I be using that instead?  No weight?

Set up:

lure~~~~~~~~swivel+sinker+line~~~~~pole

The only thing I attach to my line is my squid jig. What line are you using?

Probably not the right kind of line I'm guessing.  I've been using monofilament called Triline

That line should be fine to be honest. Don't really know why it is getting in a tangle. Why do you use a sinker? Does the jig not have a weight on it?

I was using a yo zuri jig that's shaped like a little fish, they don't have weights on them so I find them very slow to sink. I just got a few yamashita Q and this really interesting one called a ZZ walk. The yamashita has a weight on it so I'll try that without any added weight and see how it goes.
