Quote: I just looked at the back of a yo-zuri package on my desk. It says "Materials Made in Japan, Made in Philippines.".  I guess they must outsource all over the region.

Quote:@SquiderBruce....This is the first time i've hard of squid being in when the cherry blossoms bloom. Â I don't doubt it. Â I find it interesting because my friends told me that Taugs are in when the dandelions bloom. ÂThanks) At least cherry blossom were bloomed where I live and usually Newport starting to blooming about week later and I'm living about 30min away from there. Well I guess soon or later you will see cherry blossom, when you squidding at the Newportð

Quote:I ordered a few of these. Hopefully they work for me this year.ÂI've using those last year and it wasn't for me. I've been doing better with classic yozuri and colemans. I must admit that I helped squid depressions, because I caught more than 4000squids last year lolð±

Quote:ÂJust search the web and most of veterans knonws Coleman,s jig and I only do squid fishing in the night due to the my work schedule. And most importantly I do squidding at least 3~5 times a week. You just have to put your efforts and don't rely on the report. Because somebody saying " my buddy just told me he caught whole bunch of squid!" That doesn't meaning anything. If you want to be an great squid fishermen. Research, asking around, developed your own methoud. I was really sucked before last year but once I dialed my own method, I can nail it every time. My personal best was 500 within 5 hours and I gave up to count after that. Hopefully we have great season. Cheers!

We Went to Hyannis today and nothing out there, but then again in past years squid hit Newport a couple of days before Hyannis. If I were you I'll wait a couple of days before heading down.

Hey guys, just reporting in. Got to Newport ri, goat island around 11pm. There were a few people there, but none caught any squid. Came with lights and camped there for a hour and a half, sadly there was no squid. Maybe in a week or two. Good luck to the next person.

Went to look for ink spots yesterday afternoon at a popular location close to Newport. No evidence of squid found.

Fluke opened in RI on 5/1, but the Frances fleet isn't even planning their first trip for either fluke or squid until 5/8, and they may push that back.
This was one of the worst winters for local cod anyone can remember. So you would think if there were even a remote chance they could fill a boat and catch something theywould do it. Their boats dont make money at the dock and this was a beutiful weekend.  patience.  tick tock.
