We had a slower than usual bite on Thursday as well. How thick were the scup? That means that the party is almost over. Maybe 1 more time for me before waiting for Seabass and fluke to open.

The scups are extra large, not too thick they're bite off and on. They're not blitzing or anything. I think the big guys can handle the cold water temp. So they're coming in early.

Squiding in Woodshole is pretty much over. Caught 2 yesterday and the night before 5. You could see fishing going after them. Might try Hyannis tonight depending on sea conditions for one last trip.

Good afternoon folks. First time posting here thanks for all the great insights.
Has anyone had nice luck with squids in RI this week? Also, with all the construction happening in the Newport area where else would be a great alternative location to go for squid fishing?

Heading out this evening for the night off Hyannis.
Will post report when I get back.

No one was squiding in Newport. It was like a ghost town with everything closed up. It felt like the middle of winter. There have been a few at night but not many yet! No bait in the water.

Hyannis Boat Report 13May20:
Weather was a little snotty, started slow but bite picked up after the settled down. 2 80quart coolers between 2 guys. Thats it for me until the Ptown bite. Now to start regular fishing. Good luck everyone.

Went to Goat Island last night. Bite was light. Disappointed to see so many New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts license plates. The signs are still up before the Newport bridge telling out of state vehicles to exit before the bridge. I guess they are not enforcing it any more.
