Disassembling Squid Jigs
#1
I have just read the "Squid jig design section", looks fun to take apart these old/damaged jigs <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' /> I will give it a go too!

I have tried to take off the spikes on the back of these Javis Walker's razor back. I hated them! it is terrible! these spikes catch more snags and they point backward after a few snags (ie, pointing towards the hooks rather than the jig head). If you adjust them back, they then becomes really loose and will just turn direction again if anything latches on them ... Its time to "investigate" the design for these jigs (with a evil smile...) <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

Completed a little project today - successfully combined 2 damaged cheap jigs into one! I brought these from K-mart and ebay. Ive caught squids from both of them, but they didnt last: one with broken swivel and one with missing eyes and sinker after a few use. So I took the sinkers and eyeballs off one and nailed/glued onto the other -- now this hybrid jigs doesnt look too bad <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

After some anatomy, was quite surprised that the one with broken swivel is make of wood similar to these disposible chopsticks from the takeaway <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' />
