Caught around 2 dozen squid from 8pm to 12pm....kinda slow. Without having to mention any other specifics, i think it's pretty clear who the culprits are. They did that same ###### to me all freaking night on saturday and one of them actually had the audacity to reel up my line while i went to light up a ciggarette so that he could drop his own.I quickly tapped him on the shoulder, at which point he turned around, pretended to not speak english and tried dropping his line literally INCHES from me. I dunno if i'm going to continue going to the bridge. I'm just sick and tired of rude people showing absolutely no ettiquette when fishing the bridge. It's like "hey that person just caught some squid. I think i'll go steal their spot when the go to throw the next squid in a bucket.

were you there on saturday night using a giant double yellow construction site looking light on a tripod? I saw somebody using one. We only managed 22 squid btwn my brother and I and that was from about 7pm til midnight. It got windy and cold and the bite was non existent after a couple brief frenzy's. I just wish it didn' ttake me over 2 hours to drive there b/c it basically limits me to weekends only. Saturday was the most crowded i've ever seen the GI bridge.

Well well well, as i said .... I gave up fishing on the bridge many years ago. I like to fish on the wall, I don't think anyone want to mess arround, they could go for a dive, no rail to hold them back hahhahahahaha ... Tatonka, how did you do last night after i left?

Tatonka, it was great to meet you and your buddies(thanks again for the lead), great to meet you too spawnle. It was a fun night. Only my second night squid fishing at GI and we did alright, my wife and I filled 1/2 a bucket, took me a while to clean them last night...so, here it is:
Drive from Mansfield to GI....$30.00
Parking ticket cause I let the wife park the truck....$25.00
A couple yo zuris to the bottom.....$20.00
8 oz of lead and hooks lost at sea.....$5.00
Filling 1/2 a bucket with my wife on a Monday night.....PRICELESS

i found a good tecnique to keep the creepers away. ya know...the people that find it necessary to squeeze in next to you when they see you catching. Next time it happens and you hook up, swing the squid directly over they're head while giving the rod tip a slight twitch. It'll get the squid primed and ready to blast all over them. I did and they backed off quick

Hey all, Johnat, Suzy, sohofox(?) nice to meet you on Friday. What a blast and great folks. Sure it got crowded but so is a Dead concert! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' /> . Some of the best fun was when the older woman moved in beside me (nice and close) and we joked and tried to chat. Fishing -the universal language.

Last night was blast. I want to thank good2hook for all the help. I owe ya!!! I got a quarter of bucket for the night which was cool. Good2hook has some good mojo. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol' /> I myself did not donate any lures to the Squid Gods last night which was good thing. I am going there Thursday night.

Hi Johnat,
If the squids are in full swing (usually first couple of days), they'll hug on your jigs during low tide.
When I was there last Thursday night til Friday 3am, I was like "1 cast, 1squid" during 1-3 am which was low tide.
After that, high tide is better, or you need to move to deeper area which is middle of the bridge where the you'll see a fence during low tide.
By the way, don't neighbors complain yet as for the use of generators nearby the cliff? I was wondering whether neighbors are fine with the generator noise.
Anyway, good luck with your squid fishing, let me hear good report from you.

what happened? i hear sakonnet is closed because of ppl pooping and trash. its good that the dem stopped the mess from happening but they are punishing the mass for a portion of the problem. i hate atol to be racist, but "those" ppl dont care for anything, now look at it. closed. as a striper fisher, ive seen it alot. they have caused closures b4. becaused of litter and disrespect of the land that feeds them. i have to clean up after it all, as a good citizen. so we have these spots to keep coming to. its like a rock and a hard place. cleaen up after the ignorant or dont have a place to go,its not fair. i dont mind picking up trash, i actually like to keep a spot clean, but things are out of hand now. i think things are gonna get alot worse if it doesnt get better. you can all read this and move on, but it isnt right. if i have to make the actions nobody else will, thats sad. this is all our land, we need to respect it. or go postal! PICK UP YOUR TRASH "MIN" OR GET IT!!!!! if noboby else has the balls to defend our spots or communicate this then ill be the fall guy. im not gonna st5and bye unjust and have my freedoms robbed cause some jag litters. im gonna throw that jag off in the f-in water regardless of race.thank you for reading this. I hear squid are at the state street dock. please dont litter.

I hear ya Cote, but if it werent for those jags, I'd be really bored without all those styrofoam cups, beer cans and plastic bags that I get to snag while the squids are out on break.
I think the message is getting through, as I see people cleaning up stuff after themselves. An older asian guy even picked up the stuff I was snagging and walked it over to the trash bin. I saw one guy dropped his beer can into the wash and managed to snag it back, unfortunately he ended up drinking what was left
I am Asian, I speak English and not all "those" people are bad. No offense taken.
I would love to see a DEP officer or even local police patrol the area.
