Squid Structure
#1
I have access to a 14ft fishing boat and in addition to trying the local pier in Cape Cod I can try going around the bays and inlets for them as well.

What do you look for when going after squid from a boat? I read another topic on the actual technique, but not much in terms of any structure they relate to, depths they like to hang out in, how far out to go etc...

If YOU were going out in a boat what would make you stop and fish a location?

Also have you found that depth changes/dropoffs make any sort of a difference, and does high / low tide matter when you are in a boat (I read you should try to fish the high if your going off a dock) and how should you adjust your tactics?

I'm with you larry. I have found squid outside close to some exposed rocks well actualy heeps of huge squid. I think they are found anywhere with some weed beds. Maybe they like the rocks to hide in? Well seems to be the case at Straddie. duno about tides. don't think it matters as much.
