Hi guys...i've been reading about lighting that attract squids like generator, 12v batteries with Bankman underwater like...I'm thinking something cheap :-) not sure if any one has thought about it and tried it...please let me know.
My idea: Since this Sat is my first time squid fishing...didn't prepare much except the buckets, the rods and the jigs....for lighting...what I did is bought a bunch of light sticks (the one for Holloween) tight them together, add some sinkers....and voila.........please let me know if this cheap method will work. Thanks in advance

Hello Dapooh65,
I have tried this technique last year...I strung two green light sticks about 16 inch's apart on a separate rod with a 2 oz. sinker. The neat thing was you could see them glowing from the bottom. All in all I found no noticeable increase in catch compared to fishing near someone with a hung lamp. The funny thing is the I did noticed the line w/ the glow sticks was getting hit ever so often by the squid. I think they liked the glow......This was my experience....Hell, glow sticks only cost a buck...anything helps. If I try it again I may choose the red/orange color.
Good Luck,
