hi clippper, i know for a fact that the locations you asked about are already discussed in the forum and there is no benefit to the community to fragment discussion about one fishing location because this will make information even harder to find in the forum.

i hope you don't take the "cold slap" personally. i did "try" to be polite but perhaps i failed. sorry about that.

cheers, glen

With respect, I agree with Glen in that all the information you requested, and much more, is already on the forum. You could have used the search funtion to find this. Furthermore, the FAQ that Glen directed you to provided links to forum topics which answered many of the questions you asked.

From your original post:

i have developed a interest in squid fishing after viewing adventure bound on ch 31 and seeing the gigantic squid the boys were catching off flinders

Thanks Jazman for going through all that trouble to pick out those topics!

And thanks again for all your energy helping people on this site!

This sort of problem where we get a "tell me everything there is to know" question, comes up from time to time and I must admit that there are some things I can do a bit better. For example the Squidfish FAQ has not been updated for quite a while. Also I probably need to make the forum rules a bit more "in your face" for new members so that we do not have new members getting offended etc when I close topics etc.

Thanks again, Glen <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

gday everybody <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

found your site whilst browsing the net for all good things related to the primal beast aka "squid" lol

A little about me.... mad keen fisho since the moon formed and soon after that spend a great deal of fishing time dedicated to the almighty calamari!!!!!

Sydney based and mostly land based i chase the magnificent creatures with a passion so few understand or can relate to...

When you see live calamari happily frolicking in the tidal flow and throw your jig in and work it just close enough to get their attention and you see them without hesitation, turn and BANG!!! smash your jig and try to pull your jig down into the deeper water...ohhhhh you cant beat that feeling...im on ...im on... !!!!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

After reading some material on your site i'd like to say that its fairly informative and you sure give your members a lot of spots to try for squiding..

I have to agree that la Perouse.. in fact the whole area around lapa's (as i know it) has never failed me for calamari.. in particular the old bridge to bare island.. hot spot and yes you can still get on despite the construction works being carried out there at the present time. Just walk through the hole someone kindly cut in the temporary fencing that has been erected or you can simply hop over the timber railing and carefully negotiate the sandstone ledge down to the bridge and of course if the seas permit and conditions are fine go to the eastern edge of the island proper.. great deep water location with plenty of calamari,, but as someone else mentioned there are some monster cuttles down there and that could mean bye bye to you favourite jig...

Looking forwrd to checking back in again real soon people.. but for now gotta go... yep u got it.. going squiding tonight

see you down at lapas... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':zorro:' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/zorro.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':zorro:' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />
