Yep I remember you will be looking forward to seeing you

I can't say I remember you with the wagon, but I only fished once from the Bridge last year. And I'm looking forward to becoming squidadicted this year.
Those shirts sound cool, I'm sure my son and I will want some if they'll be as wild as you say! About how much $ are you thinking of? We'll be there next Friday eve, can't wait! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' q:' />
I work in New Britain at CCSU. In fact I am e-mailing from my office (On lunch break). Will be taking the boat up to RI to squid fish as soon as the word is out that they are thick. Otherwise it isn't worth trailering up there for just a few. Snaildarter
This is kind of unreal for me. Three guys who live or work in New Britain, CT. and we meet on a Squid Fishing Forum.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' q:' />
I wanted to ask you two, what do you both think about giving Stonington,CT a try this year also? I read in some old papers, there was reports of squiding in the Mystic river and surrounding areas...
Well, nice to meet you both and hopefully we can all meet up sometime..

Ned

Hey everyone! I have 3 quick things to ask/say:
1) If I see you down there, i'll definately buy a shirt
2) Squidman, What is this beer fest?
3) What is the best way to store the squid? Is it okay to just bring them home, rinse them off, wrap them, and throw them in the freezer? If there is a most humane way to kill/store the squid, I want to do it that way. Thanks for your help on this!
I'm looking forward to the first run! See you all down there!

Have you guys planned your (1st) trip yet? I just checked the Newport weather 4cast and Tuesday (4/15 tax day)has the best outlook but the smallest tidal amplitude
The fullmoon is 4/20, the highest tidal amplitudes 4/18-4/22
High tide 4/15 is at 5:13PM
4/16 6:07pm4/17 6:53PM4/18 7:34PM4/19 8:13PM4/20 8:49pm *FULLMOON4/21 9:11PM4/22 10:01PM BUT THAT'S ALL JUST DATA, I'LL FISH WHEN ITS NICE OUT AND I HAVE THE TIME
forget the van staal waste of money, get your self a quantum cabo, they are just as good, i got the pts 50 and 60.. here is a site for hte moon phases
http://www.fishsniffer.com/moonphase/may08.html, I actually got a 40 squid last night in point judith harbor under the lights at the northern dock....
Good man! van staals are completely overpriced. The cabo's outperform at a price about 1/3rd the cost of the van staals. I personally use nothing but cabos' and calcuttas.
Btw, i love how this site gets so active in april. It makes me happy to see the fishing season is underway. I even caught my first LMB of the season last night <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' q:' />

I'd give Stonington a try if I can get some info on the area. With the cost of fuel for the boat and truck, I don't want to go there without some spots or numbers that have proven productive in the past. I know Narragansset Bay and the extra 35 minute drive is worth it to me if I can get my bucket full. snaildarter
soccerlife945, you are a hardcore fisherman, so start early like the rest of us <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' q:' />
But as you know it can be missed or hit, if you don't invest your time wisely.
As a matter of fact, I know John and Suzi are hardcore and they did well last year, but they invest lots of time into it.
They also get 'speeding ticket' as well <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> haha! Next time drive slower John.
What I want to say is that, to be on the safe side (some people travel up to 3 or 4 hours), so I don't want them to go empty hand.
Lots of people live close, like you, that's why we need your report ...
sfoxnh, John wasn't driving, I was and it was a BIG, BIG TICKET. See you soon.

Busterblue,
Went out last Wed. night. No squid. Temps are real close. Plus the water was teaming with small prey. I usally head down every couple days to try.
Went out last night for a while. Nothing yet. Did, see some small shrimp swimming about.
Hopefully next Wed. night I will be eating Calamari.
Also, It was good to see you Alan.
