There is metered parking at long wharf and that Hotel further south on Washington St. It will be tough this weekend though.

Went with Flukeprodigy and another friend with my boat to Point Judith. We fluked all afternoon and squid fished off of Carpenters breakwater (240 degrees out the West gap until you hit 40 feet of water).
As the sun was setting we anchored up about a 1/2 mile behind the
Francis squid boat, set up Jeff's lights and generator and started
chumming with 4 yr old tiny shiners that Jeff found in the bottom of
his freezer. It was a matter of a few minutes and we had squid
swimming all around the boat. We fished till 11:30pm and got 3/4 of a
5 gal. pail between the 3 of us. Plenty of big 16' tubes were in the
mix. Pink and white Yozzuri jigs were the ticket. Flukeprodigy gave us a lesson in how to bail the squid.
Most were hitting the jigs near the bottom but when they went into a frenzy the squid attacked the jigs as you were reeling up.

Yes, we caught alot more but only 5 fish were legal size (minimum of 20 inches). We started at noon and switched to squid fishing at 8pm.

I really want to go. Sorry for the late response. I'm trying to get my brother to go with me. Even if he can't go, if you're definitely going to give it a shot, i'll make the trip down. Let me know if you're going out there. I'll keep checking the forum tomorrow during the day. I'll be in touch.

Update:
at GI from 9:30pm to midnight got 25...
Man, I think squids just starts to run, last night i seen so many of them on top water. ( maybe it's a month late ?, it woman's term, that means trouble .... haha!)
They are all over Goat Island, but too bad they bite only about 15 mins while I was there, then the wind pick up and the cold air moves in, after that the squids just move up and down, they don't even look all of the jig(s) ... no matter what rigs I try.
One of the the guy using triple hooks (5 of them) and snag them for about 30 mins, i think he got about 1/2 buckets when I left.
Will try again tonight...
I got to get the triple hooks rig setup ....
