It seems as if all the regulars have been quiet lately! Is this because the squid are biting or because this year is HORRIBLE for the runs? I also saw 7 boats under the new Providence I-way bridge fishing this a.m. on the way to work! Anyone catching anything over there?

Update:
Last night from 10PM - 2AM did a little better, 46 squids, 2.5 grams shrimp with cloth, pink, one jig only w/o weight. That jig never failed me when squid are slow....
Will try it again on Friday/Saturday if weather permits...
John+Suzy: How did you do last night?
Busterblue, please ping me when you head out ...

Let me know when you wanna head out. I'm usually up there once a week fluking on the frances fleet. If anyone has any room on their boat and is going fluking/squidding this weekend, i'd much rather go with you (providing you know what yo'ure doing on the water) Definatley willing to give you gas money and provide bait and tackle for the trip.

Suzy and I went out last night and causht 8 between 10:00 pm and 12:00 am. we saw hundreds of baby squid smaller than our jigs. There was one school of larger squid that came by quickly and we managed to get 4 or 5. It appears there are 3 generatoins of squid inhabiting the bay. Getting them to bite has proved a bit difficult this year. I had a dozen hit and misses last night. Now that the water temperature has finally hit 52 deg. we may see increased action the next several degrees. We will be back this weekend to try again. It's addictive. Sofnx did well off the bridge. Upon leaving he had a 2 dozen squid. He was doing better than anyone else on the bridge. There was a truck that pulled up at the park and sold someone a bucket of squid they caught on their a boat. I wish I bought the bucket. If anyone selling their squid reads this I am interested in buying a bucket.
