Kangaroo Island Squid Fishing

Hi there,

I am from Singapore and will be going to Kangaroo Island with the family in the first week of december. We will be staying in Kingscote and may be chartering a boat out of American River. Can anyone give any advise about the fishing and squiding over there? Is it worth the time to fish from the Jetty at Kingscote? Where are the best places to catch squid over here!?



I usually stick to Vivonne bay jetty and kingscote jetty, but never really get any luck

South Oz has some of the best calamari fishing in the country.



Port Lincoln is good, so too is Wool Bay.

i live on KI, and have finally been getting some off the jetty at vivonne, but very rarely





if u want a sure catch, kingscote wharf early in the morning you can usually see some swarms of squid

or there is a smaller jetty to the north of the main jetty where you can usually get some big ones



penneshaw can be good, have caught some here waiting for the ferry



emu bay, apprently is a good place, havnt had any luck from the jetty, am working on gettin mate with a boat keen so we can get out that little bit further where im sure all the squid are hiding



let me know if u find another good spot
