Hi all. I'm Ichang from Indonesia. Very surprise to know that there's a specific forum specially dicussing squid. Very much interesting & want to learn more tips & tricks from seniors here. I just new for squid fishing, usually (or might be specially) enjoying rabbitfish fishing using pole rod. From my little experiences, squid fishing has same sensation with rabbitfish fishing as long as using proper tackles (light tackle).
Here in Indonesia especially when I was living in Jakarta (now I stay at Batam island), squid fishing was very interesting & joyfull because there were many potential spots there. But now in Batam I have many difficulties doing squid fishing, first because current (what do you call in english for "arus laut"?) is too fast like you're playing kite on the sky. Second because under sea condition here is lack of corals/reefs. From some previous squid fishing trips before here, not good result even already using many types of squid jig or even using live bait with skewer.
I think that would be enough for my first introduction. Anyone interested in rabbitfish fishing, don't hasitate to visit my free site at http://myspace.com/ichangasin.
Thank you,
