i use 20lbs braid which is thin and tie 15lbs of flurocarbon to the braid.it is slightly thick depending on the brand.i use nitlon dfc.remember it is invisible under water the flurocarbon.and also you are fishing around weed, and if you get snagged you can pull most jigs out.and yo zuri jigs aint cheap.this is my method and i do well.even off the rocks.i use a g-loomis rod in the dsr model.very light rod and stiff tip for jigging the jig and a small shimano 3000 spheros reel which you cant get any more.and the rod is great for casting but not a cheap rod.i even use the rod for luring and got a 5kilo cuttle fish on it.nice rods.worth the price, not cheap
too true, the jigs aint cheap, I know what you mean now, I will it a go.

i used to build rods as a hobby to go along with the fishing.

lets see now, there are my :

rock fishing rods for live baiting off the stones - 4

beach/surf fishing rods - 4

barra fishing rods - 5

squid/soft plastics jigging rods - 10

fly rods - 5

offshore bottom bashing and deep water jigging rods - 5

strokers for gamefishing - 7

3 rods that belonged to my grandfather before he passed away

3 light GP outfits for my nefews to use

and yes, i would normally use them all in a years fishing

my only concern is that my wife might sell them for what i said they cost me

like i said, just one more ..... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rod:' />

i said to my wife when we first met

" i go to work and i go fishing, than that's it. i don't do anything else. "

she agreed.

she is great, i can fish 8 days a week if i can only figure out what that eighth day is,

um......fisherday or hunterday or maybe piscatorialday ...... bugger it,

lets just call it FUNDAY and it should last 48 HOURS (8 tide changes)

ha ha ha ha

happy fishing

Went to Rushcutters Bay just before this big wet started, got one squid with a 3.5 orange jig (Yo Zuri), suprised to catch it at low tide.

The water clarity was fair. Have not been back due to the heavy rain. Any one else tried the harbour lately?

squid on green luminous jigs - about 30cm in size. Good too see they are about :thumbsup2:
