Ya current is going to be tough this week with the supermoon. I would keep a eye out next weekend. Last year the squid were around all summer. I kayak for fluke and most of the fluke was spitting up squid all summer

Al, we have a friend who always hangs over a squid jig when drifting around for fluke. Quite successful.

Any squid at the Goat? If not, when do you expect they'll show up?

I am making a trip over to Goat. Water has been warm. Hope to find some calamari for the winter. Will report. No one else seems to be reporting!

We did pretty good the two days we spent there a couple weeks ago (I think about 188 squid, mixed sizes). However, you really had to work at it. Hope to make another trip when the herring show up.

Unbelievably, the squid were at GI this past weekend. I had to report because Sunday 11/7/2021 was one of the best two hours in a long time. All three three days were good one hour before and one hour after sunset. I did not go during the day so I canât report on those times. Half of the squid were small-medium and the others very large. I caught as many in the dark as before sunset. There was a lot of bait on Sunday. Ironically all three nights slowed way down when people turned on the lights.Â

Thanks Matt, Always enjoy reading about squidding success or failure for that matter. Yes, when we were there last, the best time was around sunset and even better an hour before sunrise and an hour or two after. Now that we got our deer and it is all butchered up and in the freezer, going to try to make another trip up there. But might wait until the herring show up.  Hope to see you soon.
