fuzz. cloud.. pogies on my screen look like a soild blip.. i was picking up fuzz while cod fishing inshore the other day.. sent a diamond and mackerel jig to check it out.. snagg'd and let go.. curious to see if this was squid.. it rose up close to 40 feet jus off the bottom... found smaller schools that didnt pick up solid.. but definite fuzz and round..

spent enough time fishing, i've learned my own time of year trends, runs. lots of trial and and few errors

I was in PJ working on my boat last night. Around midnight the C.G. issues a PAN-PAN about a fisherman in the water near the newport bridge. They were still broadcasting it this morning.
They didn't provide any information, so I have no idea if they fell out of a boat, a boat capsized, or if they slipped from shore.
It's not good whatever happened. Thoughts and condolences to the family if the search becomes a recovery.
Careful out there guys. Yesterday was no weather to be out in a small boat - even in protected waters, let alone at night.

nooooooooooooooooooothing at G.I. today from 6 pm to 9 pm... the highlight was chatting with some old timers and listening to their fishing stories... stopped by jamestown pier and nothing there either... a ton of baitfish, but no squid...
