Kagoshima, Japan
#1
Hello everybody,

I am heading over to kagoshima, Japan later in the year. I was wondering if anyone has been or knows anything about the squidding down around that area? Also is it much cheaper buying jigs and rods in Japan compared to Australia?

Thanks for your help...

What time of year? I think summer is kind of the off season but otherwise its a goer all year round and a bit of a squidding mecca. Never been there myself but know a few local blogging squiders.

As for tackle, I would say it's cheaper over here, but with the dollar not worth the plastic its printed on, it'll be expensive for you. But of course, you'll be spoilt for selection though.

Late Autumn should be good. Last season we had a nationwide competition and some of the guys from that area were getting close to kilo size at that time.
