Squidding In The Afternoon ?
#1
I know that it is generally more difficult to fish for squid in the afternoon. Is it because most squid usually lurks deeper down the sea in the afternoon ?

In this case, do i have to let my jig sink deeper down to have a higher chance to catching a squid in the afternoon ?

That might help but the humble squid is a very fast animal as well and if it feels the time is right it will swim straight 4 your jig in to the top water just to take it and drag it back down. think of it as like a shark it will lerk in deeper water so the pray will not see it and it will attack it by suprise if yea no wat i meen.

Fire eagle, i have caught most of my squid in the afternoon, i think this time is one of the best to target them. You should be letting your jig hit the bottom (or very close to the bottom) if you want to catch them anyway, then give it a few violent jigs before letting it sink back again.

I agree with Peter....get the jig as close to the bottom as possible.

Look for broken reef and rubble bottom.
