Quote:Anyone had any success day time squidding at Hyannis yet? Hi IAMFISH, If you seen some of my posts in previous years, day time for squid fishing were unreliable. I Went day with my kids so they have fun. Night time is a guarantee harvest. For example my buddy went out at night caught buckets full, I went over to see how he did? I was so impressed took the boat out with the wife and kids Mid day to 4pm caught NADA big 0. Go figure. âï¸

Fox, if you got there at slack tide that could have been your problem, squid often hit better with moving current just like other fish. Tide can be just as important as time of day. I know several guys who fish Colliers in the day and they have done well but it's still fishing and the old "you should have been here yesterday!" still applies.

Iâll be in Hyannis the next two weeks fishing every day possible . Look for either a 28 ( Twin Evinrudes ) or 24 foot pursuit â At Last â ( 275 Mercury ) loaded up with myself ( white guy who clearly has been fishing since he was 4 ) and my wife ~ a bunch of my Chinese friends who mostly are MDâs that I met as clients during the past 15 years of having been a mate on Patriot Party Boats and Bigfish Sportfishing . Iâll be monitoring VHF 69 . Hail
me there .

We took the boat out yesterday 5/30/2022 one and a half buckets per guys, one super star caught 2 buckets but he's a Freak of nature.
Squid's Trawler boats still out there it was there last day. They stop May 01. You guys should do better when the Trawling stop. The Trawlers Were too close to the anchored jigging fleet. That's all folks. âï¸

Quote:Ancient Chinese Secret # 1  Yup, a toothbrush in pocket saves a lot of aggravation especially if the weed is fine hair or "snot". Never found the stink jelly to make a difference.

Headed out tomorrow - day trip unfortunately - but will report back following day. Have friends who have done well last 2-3 days but they were night fishing with lots of light....

Went out to colliers ledge in the kayak on Sunday, ended up with 61 squid in 3 hours. It wasnt fast and furious, but if you were able to drift you would get into decent pods and have some good action.
I think this week the bite will build, and next weekend will be fabulous.
