We're gonna try hitting the bridge tomorrow (Thursday) night. I really have to print out that sticker for my bucket. Pearldiver, gimme a ring if you'll be around tomorrow. Hope to see some of you guys down there.

1tym, i'll be trying a couple new jigs (new to me, at least) that the dorchester shop guy suggested. How are those small ones working for you?

Just got home.I was at DEM on Jamestown about 4am..place was empty except with GARBAGE left from previous idiots..empty cans and propane tanks....a-holes.I set up my coleman for about an hour with no bites.

I headed over to GI about 5 am,a few hard core guys out.Nothing for me and i did not see anyone else pull any squid in.Cold and windy,i moved around a bit..tried it for an hour then hit the road home.

I will go down tonite for another shot, good luck all
SAME HERE. DID THEY HAVE THEIR OWN LIGHT SOURCE? FROM WHAT I NOTICED THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW HOW TO CATCH THEM HAVE THEIR OWN LIGHT SOURCE AWAY FROM THE BRIDGE. ANYBODY ELSE NOTICE THIS? OH AND I ALWAYS HAVE THE WRONG LURES. GREENHORN HERE.
You can stand shoulder and shoulder to a guy next to you and using the same setup and he is catching and you are "not"? This is usually happen when they are slow.....I can tell you it is depend on avgroup of squid, One group maybe active and others don't. So, You have to learn what is each particular group doing and change with it. .... slow down your jig motion, change jig color, change depth etc ... ( i have 3 rods), (yeap, about 300 bucks of squid jig this year)

Well, when it is really bite then it doens't mater ... It will hit any color or jig (well almost)

Good luck,

Last night...small blitz around sunset, very sporadic throughout the night. No big hordes yet... hopefully soon. Starting to go loco waiting for them. Didn't see to much difference in offerings.

Btw, good to see again Spawn. Squid fortune bro...

At Jamestown DEM last nite. A Bit cool/windy. About 12 people. Two squid from 7 to 10 p.m. One striper, one deer, one racoon. Some garbage. Some AS#-H#Les just don't get it and will be the first to complain when they shut a place down.

I live in Lincoln, and don't get down there as often as I'd like to.

Are warmer water/air temps better?

5/13/10 6pm-12am

tide:outgoing and incoming

Water temp: 48.7

Slow night last night on my boat. My light drew tons of small bait, the squid came in a little later. These squid were very very timid and would scare at even the slightest movement of the jigs. I ended up only managing 2 for the night and loosing a few as well, My jigging partner lost three and wasn't able to get any in the boat. my catch came blue and pink yozuri's. Well even though the trip was not a bail job it was nice to actually see thee squid. I know they are in. maybe next week or 2

cops came to my spot last night. apparently those from other parts of the country are considered citizens of a particular town if they sleep on a boat in a particular town..... cops came kicked all 15 people out because the generators are 'too noisy'. even the one guys silent honda generator, and i mean silent. apparently the people on the boats called the cops.....

lame.... lanterns only....

and the guy arguing with the cops over what its and is not private property.... bad idea man.

May not even make the trek to RI this year. The catches seem to be hit or miss and not like those of days past. There are also reports of striper and fluke in the area as well as bluefish. Heavier than normal for the temps of air and water presently. Don't think we're going to see any heavy concentrations of squid this year but I have been wrong before!

Was real slow for me on Wed night. I think I'll make an effort once a week for the next few unless they come thicker. I'm still hopeful that the run will develop like last year.

Went to GI a couple nights ago. A slow catch, but some people were doing alright. The closer you were to the generator, the better you did. Some people on the bridge got into a fight with a guy in a boat - I don't know what the deal was, but he might have been getting to close to the fishing lines. Somebody told me something about jigs, etc. being thrown at each other. Anyways, there seemed to be more action on the bridge than in the water. Hopefully this week yields better results.

Was at GI Sat. night in among the moored boats with a generator and enough shop lights to light up the bay. Saw alot of schools but they werent going after what I was offering. Only managed to bring in 5 squids and almost killed myself almost running into Dyer island on the way back in turns out I went out on high tide and came back in on low tide; damm GPS!

Any one give me a PM on what the squids are biting? I mean I saw about 50 schools under my boat. On another note, were the cops rousting peeps on the bridge? I saw the blues sitting there for 45 minns and when I left I did not see any one squiding.

We were out Friday night, saw some nice squid but didn't manage to pull many in, only very few. Any tips on what they are hitting on?

I haven't had a monster catch at GI yet this season, but from what i've seen so far, the people i've gone with and the people i've talked to have been hitting most of them on medium sized pink and purple yo-zuri and yamashita shrimp-style jigs. They haven't been taking our really small jigs or our big ones. I'm curious to hear what other members think are the hot jigs so far this season.
