Gday fellow squiders, only new here but will probably post a small report after each squid session.
Based in soldiers point, usually have a flick a couple of times a week landbased around some of the local bays.
Struggled to catch any over the last month, up until last weekend. An old spot came back to life and managed 13, hoods between 15 and 22cm
Had a good session early this morning off the rocks in fingal bay and took home 17!
Started off with a cheapo Kmart 3.5 in blue which landed 4 of the bigger ones, they stopped biting around 9am so switched to a 2.0 green yo-zuri (my fav) and they loved it.
Using a fast whipping retrieve, worked a lot better than the usual slow lift and drop.
Also, tried spraying some garlic spray on my jigs which worked wonders. Definitely buying more
Just try avoid getting it on your fingers as its strong as f****!
Anyway few pics once I figure how to upload.
Stoked they're back in numbers!
Plenty of nice fresh baits I can supply locally too for anyone keen
