Quote:Craig Stone of Emeryville Sportfishing said the first giant squid trip Friday yielded excellent results for the New Salmon Queen out of Emeryville. Friday's trip brought in 228 giant squid to 40 pounds for the 17 anglers aboard. They were fishing 20 miles off the Marin County coastline. All the squid ranged from 20-40 pounds and were taken off of squid jigs. They were able to bring the squid up to just 10-20 feet under the boat, which contributed to the large catch. Boats will be back out through Sunday this week, weather permitting.
